Much to Grandma's chagrin - the kids got muddy!  We'll clean them up before the pictures at 4pm!

The master packer fits it all in!  Camping gear AND bikes.
And, we made it! This trip was 27.5 hours of family-bonding in Herbie.  We left about 4:30pm EST and arrived in time for a SUPERB dinner with mashed potatoes, homemade bread, etc.  YUM!

A Chorus Line - absolutely stunning, in my humble opinion!
And, after all that hard work at the competition we returned to the hotel room for some rest.  We decided to take a walk to Target and found these to be a great substitute for Coldstone Creamery which was across the street.  We also played Spite and Malice.  Be sure and ask Emily who won :)!  Great fun!

More pictures at the pond!

Meet the Goslings

This is my favorite spot on my entire jog :)  (aside from the top of the mountain, I guess.)  I do love this pond!  And after telling the kids about the little babies I spotted this morning, I had to take them on an outing to see them firsthand.  We tried to feed them, but they retreated to the safety of the water.  I love watching families, particularly animal families in spring.  I also had a lot of fun observing families this past weekend at the restuarants, rest areas, etc. Hmmmm... I wonder what people think when they observe us!
We Witness a Live Birth!
The hooves are beginning to emerge.
Now the head is out!
A sweet little kid!  Both mama and baby are fine.
I was so excited when my friend called me to let me know her goat was in labor.  We skipped class and drove over rather quickly so we wouldn't miss it!  In hindsight, I should have thrown in a picnic.  I hated to let all those boys know that a 2-hour wait was a relatively quick birth!  At least now they can't quote Prissy and say, "Lawzy, we got to have a doctor. I don't know nothin' 'bout birthin' babies!"
Runza Production
And, now our freezer is well-stocked for quick meals!  Looking forward to being in Nebraska where Runza Huts abound!
